Qwen Coder is the code-specialized branch of Alibaba’s Qwen series of LLMs, with open-weight releases that developers can self-host. Qwen-Coder models support many programming languages, long context windows, and tool use for coding agent applications. The models are widely used as foundations for OSS coding agents and as alternatives to Western frontier models. Qwen represents China’s significant contribution to the global OSS code LLM ecosystem.
