PearAI is an open-source AI code editor that aims to bundle leading open-source AI coding tools, chat (forked from Continue.dev), autonomous agents (Roo/Cline-style), code search (Aider-style), and others, into a single integrated, VS Code-based experience. Its philosophy is to give developers a curated meta-IDE rather than forcing them to manage multiple extensions. PearAI is fully open-source and supports any model provider via user API keys. The project gained early prominence through Y Combinator and active OSS contribution.
