Junie is JetBrains’ autonomous coding agent, distinct from JetBrains AI Assistant, focused on agentic task execution inside JetBrains IDEs. Given a natural-language task, Junie analyzes the project using the IDE’s code model, formulates a plan, edits multiple files, runs commands and tests, and iterates until done, with a transparent step-by-step view. It supports brave mode for less interruption and integrates with JetBrains’ wider AI subscription. Junie launched in 2025 and is a strategic JetBrains product.
