Google Agent Development Kit (ADK) is Google’s open-source agent development kit for building AI agents, with strong support for Gemini and Google Cloud (Vertex AI Agent Engine) but model-agnostic for broader use. ADK provides abstractions for agents, tools, sessions, and orchestration. ADK represents Google’s first-party agent framework competing with OpenAI Agents SDK and similar offerings from other major LLM providers.
