CodeGeeX is a family of open-source code generation models and accompanying IDE assistant developed by Tsinghua University’s KEG lab and Zhipu AI. It offers free autocomplete, chat, code translation between languages, code explanation, and unit test generation across VS Code, JetBrains, Visual Studio, and several other editors. CodeGeeX models support many programming languages and can be run locally for privacy. It has been one of the most prominent open Chinese coding assistants since 2022.
